Professional development is an important part of D+R’s culture. Associates have many opportunities to learn from one another and foster synergies in their work through cross-team projects and a variety of formal and informal training and development activities. Associates who prove their mettle have the chance to take on new responsibilities, expanding current projects and developing new ones. Everyone has a voice in the organization, and we provide many openings for these voices to be heard.

If you want to get to know your colleagues better, there are lots of occasions to do so. We hold monthly all-hands lunches, and members of our staff give presentations on a range of topics related to our work at twice-monthly “Lunch and Learn” sessions. We volunteer together at Shepherd’s Table and DC Central Kitchen, and many associates play on our seasonal soccer, kickball, and flag football teams. 

There are many opportunities, initiated by staff, to give back to the community. This kind of initiative is typical of the associates who thrive at D+R and make it successful.
