D&R International Appoints New President
Silver Spring, MD, March 4, 2010 & D&R International announced today that David P. Steiner was appointed president of D&R International, an environmental consulting firm. Mr. Steiner follows the successful leadership of former president and founder John Rivera.
"David Steiner is a leader in innovation who understands how to work with business, government, and nonprofits to find environmental solutions that respect the bottom line," said Mr. Rivera. "His abilities leave me with no doubt that D&R will continue to be an influential player in finding energy-efficient and renewable solutions to our country's environmental problems."
Mr. Steiner's appointment comes as the company celebrates its 25th year in business.
"Those of us who have chosen D&R as a place to work have chosen to be part of something greater than just our jobs," said Mr. Steiner. "Together, we expect to continue the legacy John left us: successfully moving the market toward sustainable technologies and practices that can improve our environment and people's everyday lives."
Mr. Steiner continues to serve as D&R's primary business development officer, charged with seeking new opportunities that align with D&R's vision. The company works with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to promote ENERGY STAR® products and implement the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program. D&R also provides technical guidance to DOE's Weatherization Assistance Program and market guidance to the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability's Smart Grid program.
Before joining D&R, Mr. Steiner spent seven years as vice president of government affairs at Maytag Corp. He was a leading advocate for Maytag's energy- and water-efficiency efforts in product development and marketing.
Mr. Rivera will chair the company's Board of Directors and continue to serve as a senior advisor on D&R projects.
