In 2008 on behalf of DOE, D&R developed and executed OPERATION CHANGE OUT—The Military Challenge, a campaign to encourage U.S. military bases to switch to ENERGY STAR® qualified light bulbs. On April 22, 2009, D&R received first place for the campaign's poster from the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC). NAGC's Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards competition recognizes superior government communications products and their producers.
