This LEED Platinum 65-apartment complex strives to promote environmental stewardship. It features small commercial hot water systems separated by building level designed to serve localized clusters of 4-6 units. The SanC02 ultra energy efficient heat pumps are roof-mounted, with storage tanks in maintenance rooms below.

Built to provide a gathering space that celebrates the culture of the Skokomish people, sustainability is at the forefront of this design. The project has an ultra efficient VRF system with 4 Mitsubishi City Multi VRF heat pumps that provide heating and cooling for both the HVAC and domestic hot water systems.

This 6-story LEED Gold certified complex with a focus on sustainable living reflects the evolution of ultra energy efficient domestic water heating technology. Tucked into the underground parking garage in a small mechanical room is a single-pass primary domestic hot water system with 10 SanCO2 heat pump water heaters.

This was the first project in the United States to install the Mitsubishi QAHV heat pump for domestic hot water. The QAHV uses CO2 as a refrigerant, so it’s a great candidate for outdoor installations in cooler climates. Steffes designed a skid mounted package that included the heat pump, primary hot water storage and control system.
